MAINTENANCE FITTER - Somersby
The primary objective of the Maintenance Fitter is to support the Maintenance Manager, ensuring achievement of targeted machine up-time, profitability, growth and service quality in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of all maintenance related activities and tasks within the Linen Services operation to support the service and delivery functions of the Somersby Laundry.
The position of Maintenance Fitter requires the individual to display solid time management and organisational skills to achieve desired outcomes within agreed timeframes and within specified budget parameters.
Trade Qualification – Mechanical License is a minimum requirement, Sound Mechanical Skills, Solid experience within a Manufacturing/Industrial environment, Minimum 5 years Mechanical experience.

The Role
- Maintain plant and equipment at a busy industrial laundry as required e.g. maintenance of industrial washing machines, dryers, conveyors, ironers, garment systems and folding machines.
- Demonstrated experience with assessing and implementing safe work activities in challenging and evolving conditions
- Work as part of a team
- Be prepared to accept guidance and provide input to achieve the best outcome
- Opportunity to work on weekends
About You
- Qualified trade
- Knowledge and application of WHS requirements
- Proven maintenance experience in the relevant sectors
- Industrial Fault-Finding skills and experience
- Industrial Maintenance skills and experience
- Installation skills and experience
- Drawing interpretation and Understanding
- Effective Communication skills
- Good team player with the ability to build productive working relationships
- Demonstrates leaderships skills or a supervisor experience in leading a small team
There will be a preference for candidates who have:
- Industrial Laundry Experience or similar FMCG
- Previous PLC experience and fault-finding skills
- The ability to read & interpret Electrical drawings
- Confined Spaces Entry (or willingness to obtain)
- High risk work licences/Elevated work platform/Working at Heights (or willingness to obtain)
- A knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems (not essential)
