HOSPITAL LINEN PORTER (Permanent Part-time)

We currently have a great opportunity for a Permanent Part-time Linen Porter to work in our hospital linen room at Waratah Private Hospital in Hurstville.

  • Shifts start at 2:00pm - 6:00pm (4hrs daily Monday to Friday - 20 hours per week)
  • Weekly paid
  • $27.53 per hour + 12% super

As a Linen Porter, you will ensure the linen is restocked throughout the hospital to various linen cupboards. You will restock linen (towels, sheets, pillowcases, gowns, etc) across the hospital to support clinical staff care for their patients.

We require someone who is reliable and focused on getting the work done, while providing great customer service when engaging with hospital staff and members of the public.

Rosebery Laundry is part of Linen Service Australia, the largest textiles management and laundry operator in Australasia. Our Linen Laundry plants manage the textile and laundry requirements of customers in the healthcare, accommodation, hospitality and aged care sectors.

 Job duties include

This will involve (but not be limited to) completing duties such as:

  • Carrying linen bundles to fill trolleys or shelves
  • Using trolleys to transport stock throughout the hospital
  • Visually checking product for quality
  • Counting bundled linen into linen cupboards to match orders
  • Completing manual counting and computer picking dockets
  • Place orders on a tablet 
  • Following safe work procedures

 Skills and experience

  • Good Fitness Level with the ability to lift 5kg – 15kg repetitively

As a pre-requisite for this role, candidates will be required to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical including drug and alcohol testing and immunisations including Hepatitis B, COVID-19 (up to date primary vaccination) and recommended boosters.
