LINEN ROOM TEAM MEMBER – CASUAL

Linen Services Australia is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Casual Linen Room Team Member to join our team at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

This role would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, providing good customer service and being part of a small, supportive team.

Dudley Park Laundry is part of Linen Services Australia, one of Australasia’s leading textile management and laundry operators. Our laundry facilities and on-site teams provide linen services to customers across the healthcare and aged care sectors.

About the Position

This is a casual position initially offering approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Shifts will generally be rostered between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:00 pm. Availability to work Saturdays and public holidays will be required as part of the roster.

  • The initial hours on offer are approximately 15-20 hours per week
  • Applicants must be comfortable with the initial hours available
  • There may be opportunities for additional hours or work at other customer sites in the future, but this cannot be guaranteed

About the role

Working as part of a small team, you will help manage the supply and delivery of linen throughout the hospital. Your work will support hospital staff in providing care to patients.

Your duties will include:

  • Packing and preparing linen trolleys
  • Moving and delivering linen throughout the hospital
  • Entering linen orders using a tablet
  • Monitoring and managing linen stock levels
  • Providing friendly and professional customer service to hospital staff and members of the public
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe linen room
  • Following workplace health and safety procedures
  • Completing other general duties associated with operating a hospital linen room

 About you

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team
  • Friendly, approachable and committed to providing excellent customer service
  • Comfortable working in a busy hospital environment
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to accurately read instructions, enter information and complete basic stock calculations
  • Confident using a tablet or mobile device
  • Physically capable of pushing linen trolleys, lifting linen and walking throughout the hospital
  • Organised and able to work independently when required
  • Available to work rostered shifts, including Saturdays and public holidays when required

A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle would be highly regarded. While this is not required for the initial hospital-based position, it may allow you to assist at other customer sites in the future.

Pre-employment requirements

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Undertake an online pre-employment medical
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid National Police Clearance
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
