Casual Laundry Worker
We are currently seeking a Production staff member to work in our Darwin plant at Bishop Street Woolner.
As a Laundry Worker, you are a key member of our Team and will be responsible for processing and cleaning linen to a high standard for our customers in the essential services of Healthcare and Aged Care together with the Hospitality and Accommodation Sectors. This position involves various duties in our production team including Sorting, Ironing, Folding, Packing, Loading / Unloading of Washers and Dryers.
Darwin Laundry is part of Ensign Services Australia the largest Linen and Textiles Management and Laundry Operator in Australasia. Our Linen Laundry Plants manage the Textile and Laundry requirements of customers in the essential services of Health care and Aged care together with the Hospitality and Accommodation Sectors.
This role is fast paced! You’ll need good upper body strength, good hand eye coordination and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
Duties
- Sorting through soiled and dirty linen from hospitals, restaurants, aged care facilities
- Processing of linen
- Fast paced production work
- Machine Operating
- Repetitive tasks
- Labour intensive work (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)
- Following safe work procedures
Skills experience
- Can do attitude
- Willingness to be part of our safety culture
- Good Fitness Level with the ability to lift 5kg – 15kg repetitively
- Flexibility with weekly shifts
- Team player comfortable working in a multicultural workforce
- Ability to read and understand instructions and apply the information to your work
